A thought just occurred to me – a musing, if you will.
So when we die, our families are bound to tell our friends. So everyone finds out. But what about the people we talk to on the internet… Who tells them?
If i were hit by a bus tomorrow (not that there are any running due to the snow), I bet a few people would come to the conclusion that I’ve simply decided to stop talking to them. I won’t have had time to warn them, and none of my family/friends know who they are!
Do I care too much about the people I talk to but have never met? Or will there come a time when our wills include a list of people that should simply be told that we’re gonners?
I realise that this is a very morbid post, especially for half past four in the morning. So here’s something nice.
Since my last post (in September), I’ve come back home for Christmas, my bank balance is once again similar to that in the previous post and the panic and doom of the looming exams are setting in…
But hey! It’s Christmas! And I don’t intend on letting anything stop me from stuffing my face, opening all my presents (probably about 2 - don’t you hate getting older?!) at once and enjoying Poirot (9pm, ITV1) a lot lot. (Don’t worry, this won’t become a Christmas TV guide post…)
I’m also working a bit over Christmas. This includes New Year’s Eve, where I’ll see the new year in while slaving away for £4.85. Then again, I’ve never enjoyed New Year’s Eve anyway.
And I suppose there’s the snow to talk about. After all, you can’t escape it. You step outside… a foot of snow. You turn on the news, where the main story is… a foot of snow. Or the “Big Freeze” as it’s been nicknamed. Yet, it’s not trending on Twitter - my (undoubtedly accurate) indication of a topic’s relevance and importance.
Right. Time for me to get my reindeer and red suit ready. (Shhh. Don’t tell anyone.)
Ginger :) It’s nice and spicyyy and lovely. Oh and horseradish! Do they count as root vegetables (ginger being a rhizome and all…) or were you looking for something more along the lines of carrots and swedes?
So I guess you heard the news. Here he is, the new Prime Minister, First Lord of the Treasury, the Right Honourable David Cameron, stroking his newborn baby. His wife Samantha gave birth to the arguably very hairy new addition to the Cameron family shortly after stepping through the doors of 10 Downing Street this evening. The family are said to be extremely happy and are looking forward to their breakfast tomorrow…
Meanwhile, I’m losing the will to live. No, not due to all the politics. Due to the fact that people seem to be more concerned about missing Eastenders. Yes, the BBC cancelled tonight’s edition of its soap opera in order to show the new Prime Minister’s speech and such (though an awful lot of the programme seemed to consist of aerial footage of a large silver car driving from Buckingham Palace to Downing Street).
ANYWAY
Signed into LastFM today, for the first time in weeks. It’s connected to my iTunes though, so it’s been updated regularly. Interesting “Chart” page I have… In number 1 is Frankmusik (which makes sense). In third place is IAMX, who I haven’t listened to for aaaaaages. The rest is a random mixture of artists and bands, from Calvin Harris and Daft Punk to Whitney Houston and Queen. Not that this will interest anyone.

I'm Mabon. A member of the student race, I spend most of my time missing lectures and the rest of it spending what little money I have on expensive Sainsbury's food.
